Bereden and the Berkin family business
We run several businesses from our office. Berkin Bees Honey, Candles by Bereden,
a Bowen therapy clinic, and a microscopic soil analysis service. The Berkin family bee business
started in a very small way in 1970, with our children all involved
in one way or another. Now two of our sons are still working with apiaries
of their own, and even one of our grand-daughters has a hive of her
own.

We don't use any chemicals in our operation - so no nasties in the honey,
and none in the pure beeswax we make our candles from either. Just 100%
pure beeswax. Working with the bees and nature has given us an insight
into the health of the soil, and sparked our interest in organic farming.
We found that clovers etc. that were heavily sprayed didn't produce
nectar, so we didn't get honey, and the farmer didn't get the pollination,
with poor seed set.

Arnold has travelled extensively lecturing on soil health. In 1984 Arnold
had a heart attack, and on his recovery, studied long and hard as to
why. Most of us think we are doing ok, but then we crash, as he did.
But by using herbs, and a change in diet, his heart muscle regenerated,
and this led to intensive study of herbs and diet. He studied the Bowen
technique under Ossie and Elaine Rentsch, and now runs a clinic, with
great success.
